Chemical Process Demonstration Models | Custom Industrial Models
This is a production case study of a scale model for a chemical process demonstration, meticulously detailing the production process, material selection, and post-processing techniques. Our goal is to restore a real industrial scene with high fidelity. This industrial model is specifically designed for process display and customer communication, balancing structural accuracy with visual realism.
The model creation process is divided into four distinct stages:
Design Disassembly and Material Preparation Stage
Based on the process flow diagram and on-site equipment photos provided by the customer, we conduct detailed 3D modeling and disassembly to clearly define the proportions and connection relationships of each component. We select high-strength aluminum alloy profiles as the foundational frame, complemented by blue-painted metal plates and transparent acrylic plates. The tank body is fabricated from high-density PVC foam board, while the piping system utilizes green and red PE hoses alongside brass hard pipes. Valves and instruments are meticulously crafted from 304 stainless steel etched parts.

Main Structure and Tank Production Stage
We assemble the base and blue frame using CNC precision cutting of aluminum alloy profiles, ensuring the structure is stable and adheres to actual proportions. The tank body, fashioned from PVC foam board, undergoes hot bending technology to achieve a cylindrical shape, then undergoes seamless bonding using specialized acrylic solvent glue. The tank surface is meticulously polished to eliminate any visible joints. Optional high-transparency organic glass windows are embedded in select tanks to observe internal processes like oil-water separation.
Pipeline System and Detailed Assembly Stage
Utilizing the actual pipeline route as a guide, we combine metal hoses and brass hard pipes for routing, accurately simulating complex features such as elbows and tees. All valves, pressure gauges, and flange connections are precision-etched or cast components, meticulously installed and angled for authenticity relative to the actual product. We perform pressure testing simulations on the pipeline system to guarantee no leaks and smooth flow characteristics.
Post Coloring and Overall Debugging Stage
Following rust prevention treatment, all metal components are spray-painted using colors consistent with customer factory equipment – industrial blue, warning yellow, and red. The tank surface receives a matte finish to avoid reflective glare. The electronic control system integrates a touch screen and indicator lights to simulate genuine operational conditions. A final round of overall cleaning and detailed inspection confirms the model’s restoration degree exceeds 90%.
This scale model successfully reproduces the intricate structure and operational logic of chemical oil-water separation systems through meticulous craftsmanship and the use of authentic materials. It serves both as a tool for customer visits and demonstrations and as an internal training resource, enabling employees to intuitively grasp the process flow. Throughout the model making process, we maintain attention to detail and precise proportions, ensuring each component holds up to close scrutiny and reflects the high standard of professional industrial model creation. We also offer other types of models like sand table model and 3D printing model for different application needs.
