C919 Commercial Aviation Passenger Aircraft Model Production Guide
Produce a scale model of the C919 aircraft for an aviation technology company. This model will be used in air shows, technical presentations, and customer negotiations. It must accurately reproduce the actual aircraft’s exterior and details, achieving a realism level of over 90%.

Core Processes
- Modular Printing: The fuselage, wings, tail, and doors are divided into independent 3D printing model modules. This ensures precise reproduction of the aircraft’s complex aerodynamic shapes, including the curvature of the supercritical wings and winglets. This approach aligns with typical scale model production techniques.
- Precision Moulding: Thin-walled structures (e.g., door frames) are printed uniformly, while complex components (e.g., engine nacelles) are processed in layers to minimise support residue. This meticulous process is crucial for industrial model accuracy.
Material Selection
- Main Structure: High-tensile resin is used to print the fuselage and wings, ensuring structural integrity. Rigid resin creates the engine nacelles, contributing to the overall scale model‘s fidelity.
- Functional Components: Transparent resin is used for the windows, flexible resin for the hinges of the opening doors, and wear-resistant resin for the landing gear. These specific material choices enhance the realism of this industrial model.
Post-Processing
- Finishing and Painting: The surface undergoes sanding to remove layer lines and polishing of the skin for a smooth finish. Metal components receive a matte paint treatment, the fuselage is painted in aviation white, and window frames feature blue accents – key aspects in refining a sand table model.
- Detail Reproduction: Micro-engraving is used for serial numbers and logos. LEDs simulate navigation lights, and doors are magnetic-mounted for opening and closing – adding depth to the scale model.
- Dynamic Functionality: Doors can be manually opened and closed. The landing gear is retractable, and LED light strips under the wings simulate night lighting – features common in sophisticated industrial model production.
Delivery Standards
- Smooth operation of all moving parts is guaranteed.
- No lighting issues are present upon delivery.
- Even colouring and clear details, including sensor windows and antennas, are ensured – meeting the high standards expected for a detailed scale model.
